Our Story
It started with a simple question: What if trading cards could teach kids about the real heroes in their community?
As parents, we spent countless game nights playing Pokémon and other card games with our kids. The games were fun, but we wondered: why can't our children learn about real people who shaped our neighbourhoods, our province, our country?
"I wanted my son to know the stories of people from our community: the teachers, the volunteers, the leaders, the artists. Playing cards with faces he might actually recognise would strengthen his connection to where we live."
That's how Local Legends was born. A trading card game that celebrates real Canadian heroes, from local community figures to national icons. Every card tells a story. Every game is a chance to learn.
Based in British Columbia, Canada, we're building more than just a card game. We're building a way for families to connect with their communities, one card at a time.
Our Soul Statement: We are pulled to honour community figures while they are still among us. We want to change the flow and honour all that have had a positive impact on our communities, both past and present.
